VACUUM FEEDTHROUGHS built to your spec

Thermocouples, PT100, Ethernet, USB and power lines potted with epoxy into a KF elbow. One leg clamps to your chamber, the cables run through the bend and out the potted end. Pick your lines and lengths — we work out the size and the price, and you order it right here.

Where they fit

Where epoxy feedthroughs make sense

  • Freeze dryers, vacuum ovens, coating and drying chambers
  • Rough and fine vacuum, down to roughly 10⁻⁶ mbar
  • Continuous operation up to 80 °C at the part
  • Any mix of cable types in one L-piece — far cheaper than one connector per signal

Where they do not

  • Mounted directly on a deeply chilled surface — a condenser or cold trap. The epoxy core contracts more than the steel around it and can pull away from the wall. Fit it to a port that stays near ambient.
  • Bakeable UHV systems — epoxy will not survive a bakeout
  • Service temperatures above 80 °C at the part itself
  • Applications requiring a certified hermetic glass or ceramic seal

If your system falls into the second list, talk to us — we will point you at the right glass or ceramic part instead of selling you the wrong thing.

How it is built

  1. 1

Every core is stripped and soldered before potting. That closes the path air otherwise takes through the cable itself — along the strands and under the jacket.

  2. 2

The cables are set into the elbow on the pattern the configurator shows.

  3. 3

The potted leg is filled with a two-component vacuum epoxy, degassed before curing.

  4. 4

Every assembly is pressure-checked and shipped from Vienna in typically 5–10 working days. Add the helium leak test if you need a certificate.

Vacuum feedthroughs: frequently asked questions

How many cables fit a KF40 feedthrough?

As a reference, around 50 thin cables with a 2.4 mm outer diameter fit KF40. The exact capacity depends on the actual cable diameters and the mix in the bundle.

Which cables can be combined in one feedthrough?

Thermocouple, PT100 and PT1000 sensor cables can share a feedthrough with Ethernet, USB and power cables. The configurator sizes the bundle from each cable's real jacket diameter.

Which flange sizes are available?

The configurator selects the smallest suitable size from KF16, KF25, KF40, KF50, ISO-K 63 and ISO-K 100. Larger or unusual assemblies are available as custom parts.

What vacuum and temperature range is suitable?

Epoxy-potted feedthroughs are intended for rough and fine vacuum down to roughly 10⁻⁶ mbar and continuous operation up to 80 °C at the feedthrough itself. They are not intended for bakeable UHV systems.

Need something outside the configurator?

Sensors we do not stock, unusual connectors, a straight flange or custom plate instead of an elbow, or a bundle wider than ISO-K 100 — send us the requirement and you will get a quote.
